The first commune in Que Phong to achieve New Rural Area standards after merger.
On the morning of November 18th, Que Phong district held a ceremony to announce that Muong Ngoc commune had achieved the New Rural Area standard in 2024.
Attending the ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the leadership of Que Phong district and a large number of local people.

Over the past four years of implementing the National Target Program for building new rural areas in the 2021-2025 period, with the perseverance, effort, and decisive striving of the Party Committee, government, the entire political system, and the people, Muong Ngoc commune has achieved many positive changes in the "Nghe An joins hands to build new rural areas" movement.
Following the principle of "doing the easy things first, then the difficult ones," and focusing on mobilizing internal resources while taking advantage of policies and mechanisms from the central, provincial, and district levels, especially by combining and effectively utilizing the strength of the entire population with the support of companies, businesses, and sponsors, Muong Ngoc commune has achieved encouraging results. These include the upgrading and construction of socio-economic infrastructure and public welfare facilities, an improvement in all aspects of people's lives, and significant changes in the rural landscape.

By the end of 2023, the average income reached 42.446 million VND/person/year. Ten out of eleven hamlets in the commune achieved the title of "Cultural Hamlet," with the percentage of families achieving this title exceeding 80% annually. The commune's health station was upgraded and modernized, with a full complement of medical staff meeting national health standards. Environmental sanitation, waste collection and treatment improved, and 100% of the population used clean water. Political security and social order were maintained.
Thanks to the efforts and dedication of the entire political system and the consensus of the whole Party and people in the new rural development movement, Muong Ngoc commune has now completed 19 out of 19 criteria and was recognized as a New Rural Development standard commune in 2023 by the People's Committee of Nghe An province in Decision No. 2200/QD-UBND dated August 23, 2024.

The recognition of Muong Ngoc commune as meeting the standards of a New Rural Area is seen as a foundation and driving force to further strengthen the Party Committee, government, and people of the commune to continue to unite, strive, and work harder, while clearly defining the idea that there is only a starting point, not an end point, in order to sustainably improve the quality of New Rural Area criteria and soon achieve the advanced New Rural Area standard in the coming years.
