Hung Tay commune (Hung Nguyen district) receives certificate recognizing it as a New Rural Area.
(Baoghean.vn) - On the morning of April 24, 2016, in Hung Tay commune (Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province), the Party Committee, government, and people of Hung Tay commune solemnly held a ceremony to announce and receive the Certificate of achieving New Rural Area standards and meeting the national criteria for health in 2015.
Attending the ceremony was Comrade Vi Luu Binh – Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Chief of the New Rural Development Coordination Office of Nghe An province.
Also attending were representatives from various departments and agencies, leaders of Hung Nguyen district, and a large number of people from Hung Tay commune.

After nearly five years of implementing the national target program on building new rural areas, Hung Tay commune has mobilized 266.5 billion VND to complete 19 out of 9 criteria. Notably, despite a low starting point and some criteria being very difficult for the area's specific characteristics, Hung Tay, through its efforts, has achieved very high results.
Regarding transportation and irrigation, nearly 10 km of road A has been constructed, nearly 50 km of roads B and C have been concreted; over 20 km of irrigation canals have been concreted; 17 cultural centers have been built out of a total of 26 hamlets, and the system of cultural and sports facilities at the commune level is being gradually completed.
Among the resources mobilized, despite being a commune in a special area with 52% of its population being Catholic, the commune has mobilized over 116 billion VND to build various projects. Besides building essential infrastructure, Hung Tay commune has also achieved impressive results in poverty reduction and healthcare for its people. The commune has promoted economic development and economic restructuring, thereby increasing the number of well-off households to over 60%, reducing the poverty rate from 16.7% in 2011 to 3.6% in 2015; the commune invested nearly 5 billion VND to upgrade equipment for the commune's health station to meet national standards (phase 2); and education and training continue to make new strides…
