Lien Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district) receives certificate recognizing it as a New Rural Area.
(Baonghean.vn) – On March 11th, Lien Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district) held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing it as a New Rural Area in 2016.
Over the past five years, implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, and people of Lien Thanh commune have always been united, dynamic, and creative in economic development, mobilizing resources to invest in economic and social infrastructure.
The ceremony was attended by: Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen The Ky - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Director General of the Voice of Vietnam Radio; Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives from provincial departments and agencies, and members of the provincial New Rural Development appraisal council.Representing Yen Thanh district were: Mr. Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee; Mr. Phan Van Tuyen - Chairman of the District People's Committee, along with representatives from local departments, agencies, and organizations. |
Thanks to proactive efforts in economic restructuring, diversification of occupations, and promotion of labor export, the average per capita income of Lien Thanh residents has reached nearly 27 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate has decreased to over 3.6%.
The entire commune has mobilized a total of over 250 billion VND in resources for building new rural areas, including over 55 billion VND from integrated funding and nearly 125 billion VND contributed by the people.
The commune has invested in the construction of 100% of its main commune roads, inter-commune roads, and village lanes, and 92% of its main village roads have been asphalted or concreted, making them spacious and well-maintained. The main roads within the fields have been hardened, and 87% of the canals and ditches in the area have been reinforced.

All schools have been recognized as meeting national standards, and the health stations meet the required standards. The grassroots healthcare network has been strengthened and improved, and the basic healthcare staff has been standardized, ensuring primary healthcare for the people. 11 out of 12 hamlets have been awarded the title of cultural village; over 95% of households have access to clean and hygienic water.
For five consecutive years, the Party Committee of Lien Thanh commune has been recognized as clean and strong… At the end of 2016, the commune was recognized as a New Rural Area – the 19th commune in Yen Thanh district to achieve New Rural Area standards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – acknowledged and praised the efforts of the Party Committee and people of Lien Thanh commune in the New Rural Development movement. He expressed his hope that cadres, Party members, and the people would continue to build on the achievements, leading Lien Thanh to comprehensive and sustainable development.

On this occasion, 4 collectives and 4 individuals received commendations from the Provincial People's Committee; 4 collectives and 4 individuals received certificates of merit from the District People's Committee; and 63 collectives and individuals received certificates of merit from the Lien Thanh Commune People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the movement to jointly build new rural areas, from 2001 to 2016.
