Lien Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh) received the certificate of recognition for meeting New Rural standards.

(Baonghean.vn) – On March 11, Lien Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition as a commune meeting New Rural standards in 2016.

In the past 5 years, implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front and people of Lien Thanh commune have always been united, dynamic and creative in economic development, mobilizing resources to invest in economic and social infrastructure.

Thanks to the active transformation of economic structure, diversification of industries, and promotion of labor export, the average income per capita of Lien Thanh people reached nearly 27 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate decreased to more than 3.6%.

The whole commune has mobilized a total of over 250 billion VND in resources for new rural construction, of which over 55 billion is combined capital and nearly 125 billion is contributed by the people.

The commune has invested in building 100% of commune roads, inter-commune roads and alleys, and 92% of village roads to be asphalted and concreted. The main intra-field roads have been hardened, and 87% of the canals in the area have been solidified.

All schools are recognized as meeting national standards, and medical stations meet standards. The grassroots health network has been strengthened and enhanced, and the team of medical staff has been standardized, ensuring primary health care for the people. 11/12 hamlets have achieved the title of cultural village; over 95% of households have access to clean, hygienic water.

Lien Thanh Commune Party Committee has been recognized as clean and strong for 5 consecutive years... At the end of 2016, the commune was recognized as meeting the New Rural standards - the 19th commune in Yen Thanh district to meet the New Rural standards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and praised the efforts of the Party Committee and people of Lien Thanh commune in the movement to build new rural areas. He hoped that cadres, party members and people would continue to promote the achievements, bringing Lien Thanh to comprehensive and sustainable development.

On this occasion, 4 collectives and 4 individuals received certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee; 4 collectives and 4 individuals were awarded certificates of merit from the District People's Committee; 63 collectives and individuals received certificates of merit from the People's Committee of Lien Thanh commune for their outstanding achievements in the movement of joining hands to build new rural areas, period 2001-2016.
