Nghi Kim commune receives certificate recognizing it as a New Rural Area.

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of August 8th, Nghi Kim commune (Vinh City) held a ceremony to celebrate its 60th anniversary (1956 – 2016) and receive the certificate recognizing it as a New Rural Area.

Attending the ceremony were: Mr. Dinh Viet Hong – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Vo Viet Thanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Hoai An – Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee; along with representatives from provincial departments and agencies, and representatives from the City People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee.

Established in 1956 and merged into Vinh City in 2008, Nghi Kim commune currently comprises 16 hamlets with 2,750 households. Over 60 years of construction and development, the suburban commune of Nghi Kim has been thriving.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khiem, Chairman of the Nghi Kim Commune People's Committee, delivered a speech commemorating the 60th anniversary of the commune's establishment.

Over the past five years, implementing the New Rural Development movement, Nghi Kim commune has completed all 19 criteria and reached the finish line one year ahead of schedule. The commune has taken advantage of all resources to focus on building a synchronous technical infrastructure; with a total investment capital of over 60 billion VND, of which over 44 billion VND came from people's contributions and over 10 billion VND was mobilized from businesses.

Annual economic growth rate reached 10-11%, per capita income was 35 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate according to the new criteria decreased to only 0.85%.

To date, 14 out of 16 hamlets have achieved the status of "cultural hamlet," with the annual rate of "cultural families" exceeding 90%. Kindergartens and primary schools meet national standards. The political system remains stable, the rural landscape is increasingly developing and modernizing, and the material and spiritual lives of the people are steadily improving.

Comrade Dinh Viet Hong presented the certificate recognizing Nghi Kim commune as a New Rural Area to the commune.

On this occasion, the leaders of Vinh City presented a congratulatory banner to Nghi Kim commune on the occasion of its 60th anniversary.

With the achievements it has made, Nghi Kim commune has had the honor of receiving the certificate recognizing it as a New Rural Area standard commune awarded by the Provincial People's Committee.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee and the Vinh City People's Committee also awarded prizes to collectives and individuals who have achieved outstanding results in the New Rural Development movement in Nghi Kim commune.
