Water is being released from the Ban Ang hydroelectric reservoir (Tuong Duong).
The discharge through the sluice gates and spillway is expected to end on October 29th, when the H1 unit completes its repairs and is put back into operation.
At 7:21 PM on October 22nd, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received notification No. 08 from Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company regarding the release of water from the Ban Ang hydropower reservoir.
To ensure the safe operation of water discharge from the Ban Ang hydropower reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir and multi-reservoir operating procedures on the Ca River basin, and taking into account the hydrological conditions at the site, Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company plans to discharge water from the Ban Ang hydropower reservoir as follows:
Expected time for water release: 06:00 AM, October 23, 2024.
Discharge flow: Total discharge flow through the generator unit and spillway gates: Approximately 96 - 100 m³.3/s (less than the flow rate through the two generators is 189m)3/s) and may increase depending on rainfall patterns in the area and inflow into the reservoir.
Timeframe for ceasing discharge through sluice gates and spillways: Expected to end on October 29, 2024, when unit H1 completes repairs and is put back into operation.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense hereby informs: the People's Committee of Tuong Duong District and the heads of provincial departments, agencies, and the Road Management Area II to notify all levels of government, agencies, units, investors currently constructing along and on the river, owners of water transport vehicles, and all people in the downstream area of the Ban Ang Hydropower Plant to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the State and the people.
