Water discharge from Ban Ang hydroelectric reservoir (Tuong Duong)
The discharge through the gates and spillway is expected to end by October 29, when the H1 generator completes repairs and is put back into operation.
At 7:21 p.m. on October 22, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 08 from Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company regarding the release of water from the Ban Ang Hydropower Reservoir.

To ensure the safe operation of water discharge from Ban Ang Hydropower Reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir and inter-reservoir procedures on the Ca River basin and the hydrological situation at the project, Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company plans to discharge water from Ban Ang Hydropower Reservoir as follows:
Estimated time of water discharge: 06:00, October 23, 2024.
Discharge flow: Total discharge flow through the generator set and spillway gates: Estimated about 96 - 100m3/s (less than the flow through 02 generators is 189m3/s) and may increase depending on rainfall developments in the area and lake flow.
Time to end discharge through gates and spillways: Expected by October 29, 2024, when unit H1 completes repairs and is put back into operation.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs: Tuong Duong District People's Committee and Heads of provincial departments, branches and sectors, Road Management Zone II to inform authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the area downstream of Ban Ang Hydropower Plant to know and deploy necessary work, ensuring the safety of life and property of the State and the People.
