Releasing water from Chau Thon hydroelectric reservoir.
From 6 PM today (May 19th), the Chau Thon hydroelectric reservoir will regulate its water discharge to ensure safe operation.
At 2:36 PM, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province received Notice No. 70 dated May 19, 2025, from Son Vu Energy Development Joint Stock Company regarding the operation of the Chau Thon hydropower reservoir discharge facility.
Accordingly, to ensure the safe operation and regulation of the Chau Thon hydropower reservoir in accordance with the procedures approved by the Provincial People's Committee and in line with the hydrological conditions at the site, Son Vu Energy Development Joint Stock Company plans to operate and regulate the Chau Thon hydropower reservoir as follows:
Expected operating time for regulation:Starting at 6:00 PM on May 19, 2025.
Expected discharge flow rate:Discharge flow rate from 20m3/s up to 40m3/s (Discharge rate through the valve).
Discharge completion time:Until the floods subside.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense hereby informs: the People's Committee of Que Phong District; the heads of provincial departments and agencies to notify local authorities, agencies, units, investors currently constructing along and on the river, owners of water transport vehicles, and all people in the downstream area of Chau Thon Hydropower Plant to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the State and the people.
