Water discharge from Chau Thon hydroelectric reservoir
From 6:00 p.m. today (May 19), Chau Thon Hydropower Reservoir will regulate water discharge to ensure safe operation.
At 14:36, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province received Notice No. 70 dated May 19, 2025 of Son Vu Energy Development Joint Stock Company on the operation of the Chau Thon hydropower reservoir discharge project.
Accordingly, to ensure the safe operation and regulation of water at Chau Thon Hydropower Reservoir in accordance with the procedures approved by the Provincial People's Committee and in accordance with the hydrological situation at the project, Son Vu Energy Development Joint Stock Company plans to operate and regulate Chau Thon Hydropower Reservoir as follows:
Estimated time of regulation operation:Starting from 18:00 on May 19, 2025.
Expected discharge:Discharge from 20m3/s to 40m3/s (Discharge flow through valve door).
Discharge end time:Until the flood is over.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs: Que Phong District People's Committee; Heads of provincial departments, branches and sectors to inform authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the area downstream of Chau Thon Hydropower Plant to carry out necessary work to ensure the safety of life and property of the State and the People.
