Clearing out old inventory to make way for new stock, a series of cars with 2022 VIN numbers are being offered at huge discounts.
Many car models from manufacturers such as Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Suzuki, and Subaru, manufactured in 2022 (VIN number 2022), are being heavily discounted by the manufacturers and dealerships to clear inventory and make way for new generation models and upgraded versions that are about to be launched in the Vietnamese market.
Specifically, many Toyota models with 2022 VIN numbers are being discounted by 30-130 million VND and are being sold at the old prices before the price adjustment at the beginning of 2023. Specifically, the two gasoline-powered Fortuner versions are discounted by 15-90 million VND. The Fortuner Legender 2.4L 4x2 AT and Legender 2.8L 4x4 AT models have the highest discounts of 120 and 130 million VND respectively.
The Toyota Camry sedan is seeing price reductions ranging from 15 to 90 million VND depending on the version. Meanwhile, the brand's best-selling crossover, the Toyota Corolla Cross, is also seeing price cuts of 45-60 million VND, with the highest reduction applied to the 1.8HV version.

Discounts for 2022 model year vehicles also apply to several other Toyota models such as the Yaris (30 million VND discount), Veloz Cross (45-50 million VND discount), and Innova (30-40 million VND discount).
At some dealerships, the top-of-the-line 2022 Hyundai SantaFe diesel version is being offered with discounts of 120-150 million VND. This discount program has been implemented by many dealerships since the beginning of 2023. Meanwhile, the maximum cash discount at dealerships for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson crossover is recorded at around 65 million VND. Vehicles with 2023 VIN numbers are also discounted by approximately 15-45 million VND.

Also this April, Suzuki is offering discounts on all 2022 models of its passenger cars, including the XL7, Hybrid Ertiga, Swift, and Ciaz. The highest discount applies to the Hybrid Ertiga AT version, including one year of comprehensive insurance and a 50% reduction in registration fees, totaling 40 million VND.
The Ertiga MT Hybrid version is eligible for a 50% discount on registration fees, worth 26 million VND. Customers also receive various gifts from the manufacturer that can be redeemed for cash.
At many dealerships, Nissan is currently running a promotion offering 100% off registration fees for 2022 models, equivalent to a cash discount of approximately 80 million to nearly 100 million VND, along with complimentary accessories.

Additionally, the Nissan Kicks model is also eligible for promotions from the manufacturer in April, including a 5-year free maintenance package, a fuel gift package for up to 50,000km, and a 5-year or 100,000km warranty. These promotions can be redeemed for cash.
Not to be left out, Subaru is currently offering a 50% discount on registration fees for 2022 models of the new Forester. Some versions of this model will also come with additional accessory gifts. This offer reduces the prices of the Subaru Forester iL, iL EyeSight, and iS EyeSight versions by VND 48.45 million, VND 54.95 million, and VND 59.95 million respectively.
The Forester iL EyeSight version also comes with an additional upgrade package including automatic folding mirrors and a power tailgate, however, this cannot be exchanged for cash.
