Vo Liet commune (Thanh Chuong district) receives certificate for achieving New Rural Area standards.
(Baonghean.vn) - On December 31st, Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong district, held a ceremony to receive the national standard certificate for building new rural areas.
Vo Liet commune is located in the central right bank of Thanh Chuong district, 40km from Vinh city, about 10km from the town center, and 27km from the Thanh Thuy border gate with Laos. This area is rich in historical sites and scenic spots, and was once the district capital of Thanh Chuong district during the colonial and feudal era. Currently, the commune has 8 villages, 102 residential clusters with 2,431 households and 10,234 inhabitants.

Since the Central Party Committee issued a Resolution and the Prime Minister issued Decisions on the construction and implementation of the National Program on New Rural Development, the local government, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations at the commune level have provided decisive leadership, and officials and the people have united in supporting the implementation of the 19 criteria. This has involved mobilizing over 200 billion VND in resources, with the people contributing over 40 billion VND, completing nearly 65 km of roads, 23 km of irrigation canals, and many other welfare projects.
During this process, the locality also focused on building socio-cultural criteria, promoting the value of two national-level historical and cultural relics, Vo Liet communal house and Bach Ma temple, and organizing well-planned festivals and spiritual activities that attract many tourists. Thanks to comprehensive and strong investment, the material and spiritual lives of the people have improved; there are no households living in temporary or dilapidated houses in the area. The average per capita income in the area in 2021 was 39.5 million VND/person/year. The poverty rate has decreased significantly, to only 2.1%.

Along with investment in socio-economic development, during the process of building new rural areas, Vo Liet commune has also focused on building the political system and access to law. Every year, the Party Committee achieves the "Clean and Strong" rating; the Government completes its tasks excellently. Political and social organizations: Every year, they complete their tasks well or better. National defense and security work is also given attention, achieving security standards. After many efforts, Vo Liet commune...The commune was recognized as meeting national standards for new rural development in 2021 according to Decision No. 413 dated February 21, 2022, of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the authorized representative, Mr. Nguyen Van Hang – Deputy Chief of the National Rural Development Program Coordination Office of Nghe An Province – presented certificates, cash prizes, and Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 4 collectives and 4 individuals.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district and the People's Committee of Vo Liet commune also presented Certificates of Commendation to many collectives and individuals who have achieved outstanding results in the process of building new rural areas.
