Nga My commune, a remote mountainous area: Determined to prevent people from going hungry amidst isolation.
Over the past few days, Nga My commune in Nghe An province has been hit by continuous heavy rains and flash floods, causing serious landslides and completely cutting off many inter-village roads.
Following Typhoon No. 10, Nga My commune in Nghe An province suffered heavy damage due to flash floods and landslides caused by heavy rain, with initial estimates of approximately 55 billion VND. Many houses were flooded, 4 houses were swept away, traffic was severely disrupted due to landslides, and many roads were isolated. To date, 5 villages remain cut off due to landslides blocking many roads.

Five villages, namely Cha Hìa, Đình Tài, Na Kho, Na Ngân, and Phẩy, are isolated, directly affecting the lives of approximately 2,500 people.

Faced with these difficulties, the Nga My commune authorities demonstrated a high sense of responsibility by making every effort to reach and transport food and essential supplies to the people in the isolated areas.

However, due to the 22 km journey, mostly involving walking through the forest and taking over 5 hours, delivering relief supplies to the people faced significant difficulties by the morning of October 19th. Nevertheless, with the determination to ensure no one is left behind, along with the solidarity of the local people and the valuable support from the community and businesses, Nga My commune is making every effort to ensure that the people do not lack food.
