According to images and videos circulating online on October 15th, the incident allegedly occurred at a The Gioi Di Dong store in Yen Bai. A customer who purchased a brand-new, sealed iPhone 6S Plus, worth over 20 million VND, was shocked to discover it contained only rocks immediately after unboxing it.

Shortly afterward, the staff at The Gioi Di Dong Yen Bai exchanged the phone for a second rose gold iPhone 6S Plus for the customer; however, inside were two stones inserted along with the accessories.

Occurring at a reputable chain like The Gioi Dien Dong (Mobile World), the incident quickly caused a stir among witnesses and the consumer community. Suspicion was quickly raised regarding the product supplier, suggesting the product was swapped during transportation to The Gioi Dien Dong…

Speaking with reporters on the morning of October 16th, a representative from The Gioi Dien Dong confirmed the incident and stated that they are currently verifying the entire matter.
