Building a strong and exemplary Party Committee at Vinh University.
On the morning of July 25th, the Party Committee of Vinh University held a conference to review Party building work during the first six months of the year and to implement tasks for the last six months of 2024.
Comprehensive reform of school activities.
The Party Committee of Vinh University is a grassroots party committee directly under the Party Committee of Nghe An province. Currently, it has 8 sub-party committees with 36 branches and 1,540 party members, including 769 staff members and 771 students, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates.
In the first six months of the year, the Party Committee of Vinh University continued to lead and direct the fundamental and comprehensive reform of the university's educational and training activities in accordance with Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Conclusion No. 51-KL/TW of the Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam; while actively responding to the emulation movement "Innovation and Creativity in Management, Teaching and Learning" of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The school has actively and proactively built and improved the quality of student recruitment, opening 6 new undergraduate programs and 1 master's program (Accounting).
The university's training programs continue to be adapted to an innovative model, aligned with employer needs and international standards. Accordingly, the university has enrolled 1,892 distance learning students across five training programs.
Scientific research, application, and technology transfer activities are of guaranteed quality. In the first six months of 2024, the University's Science and Training Council selected 12 outstanding projects in various fields to submit to the Ministry of Education and Training for participation in the 2024 Science and Technology Award for students in higher education institutions.
The Party Committee of Vinh University has always paid close attention to and cared for the work of building and developing Party members. In the first six months of 2024, the entire Party Committee admitted 129 new Party members; granted full membership to 46 probationary Party members; organized one training course on understanding the Party for 484 people; and organized one political theory training course for 300 new Party members.
Many major activities such as career counseling and guidance conferences, and dialogues between the Rector and students, are also organized, helping the school to promptly understand the thoughts and aspirations of students in order to create consensus in implementing training programs.
Striving to become a reputable training center in the North Central region.
The conference also heard presentations from subordinate Party committees and branches. These presentations focused on topics such as improving the quality of training and scientific research; the development strategy of Vinh University for the period 2022-2030, with a vision to 2045; and solutions and recommendations to overcome difficulties and obstacles in training, meeting the requirements of the new situation...
In his concluding remarks at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council - acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of the Party committees and subordinate Party branches, as well as the efforts of the entire staff and faculty, which helped Vinh University achieve many of its set targets.
To effectively carry out future tasks, Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hien hopes that the departments and units under his/her authority will develop specific action plans based on the guidelines set by the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee, contributing to building a strong and exemplary Party Committee of Vinh University.
Accordingly, we will continue to enhance the capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and its members; strengthen innovation, cooperation, and creativity; and resolutely strive to achieve the goal of transforming Vinh University into Vinh University – an educational institution that trains high-quality human resources, leading the development of education and training in the North Central region. Simultaneously, it will become a center for research and innovation, contributing to national and international development.
At the conference, the Party Committee of Vinh University disseminated and implemented the 2024 thematic topic on "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, ethics, and style regarding practicing democracy, strengthening the rule of law, and ensuring social discipline."
