Formed from the merger of Hau Thanh, Phuc Thanh and Lang Thanh communes, Giai Lac commune possesses many potentials and advantages for development. In terms of economy, Giai Lac commune has achieved many outstanding achievements, reflected in the average growth rate of 9.8% in the past 5 years. The economic structure has shifted positively, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture, increasing the proportion of industry - construction and services. In 2025, the total production value of the whole commune is estimated to reach 1,675 billion VND; annual budget revenue always exceeds the estimated target; total social investment capital reaches 1,564 billion VND. Average income per capita reaches 70,941 million VND/year, contributing to improving people's lives.

In 5 years, 451,229 billion VND has been mobilized to build new rural infrastructure. As a result, Lang Thanh commune and Phuc Thanh commune (old) have achieved advanced new rural standards in 2024. Currently, the whole commune has 1 product certified by VietGAP, 4 OCOP products meeting 3-star standards, along with 3 beekeeping and commercial honey processing villages recognized by the province. Many households have boldly applied technical advances in production, contributing to increasing crop and livestock productivity, opening up a new direction in clean and sustainable agricultural production.

In the field of culture and society, Giai Lac commune has also achieved many important results. The education system has been invested in and upgraded, schools have been solidified and met national standards. The movement to build a cultural life has been promoted, associated with building new rural areas and preserving traditional identities. Cultural and sports activities have developed vigorously, spreading to every village and hamlet. Medical work, people's health care, and social security have always been focused on. National defense and security have been maintained.

In particular, after the reorganization of the apparatus, the commune's political system quickly stabilized and operated effectively, ensuring smooth management and operation activities - an important premise for Giai Lac commune to enter a new stage of development.

Focusing on creating breakthroughs in infrastructure construction, improving the investment environment, and enhancing the quality of human resources are fundamental factors helping Giai Lac commune seize development opportunities.

The economic structure of the commune continues to be oriented towards modernity: Increasing the proportion of services, industry - construction; gradually reducing dependence on traditional agriculture. The commune aims to build high-tech applications, associated with rural industrialization - modernization. The 2025-2030 development plan sets out specific targets, including striving for an average economic growth rate of 11.5-12.5% ​​per year; an average income per capita increase of 55-65%; a poverty rate reduction of 1% per year; a health insurance participation rate of 97%. A 100% national standard school rate. Striving to achieve advanced new rural areas by 2027.

Along with that, the traffic infrastructure system will be completed with 100% of commune-level roads being paved. The commune also aims to have 6-7 OCOP products meeting 3-star standards or higher, thereby gradually affirming the brand and quality of local agricultural products in the market.
