Building Nghe An into a province with a livable environment.

On the morning of January 19th, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department held its regular monthly briefing conference for January 2018. At the conference, the leaders of the Propaganda Department emphasized that Resolution 08-NQ/TU aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Party's leadership and the State's management of the environment, preventing the emergence of "hot spots" and potential risks of serious environmental pollution; while simultaneously addressing urgent environmental issues, dealing with polluted areas, gradually improving the environment in localities, and building Nghe An into a province with a livable environment.

Nghe An province clearly defines environmental protection as a key and ongoing task for the entire political system, with the motto of prioritizing prevention, combined with remediation and pollution control, encouraging the application of modern and environmentally friendly technologies, conserving nature, and responding to climate change.

Specific targets for 2020 have been set: 100% of investment projects will be confirmed as having completed environmental protection works for the operational phase; 100% of production and business establishments investing in environmental protection systems will be inspected, audited, and guided on environmental work; 80% of production and business establishments will meet environmental standards; 85% of establishments causing environmental pollution or serious environmental pollution will be removed from the list…

By 2025, 100% of production and business establishments will meet environmental standards; 100% of establishments causing environmental pollution or serious environmental pollution will be removed from the list; 100% of urban areas of type IV and above will have centralized wastewater treatment systems meeting standards; and 90% of craft villages will be encouraged to develop in an environmentally sound manner.

At the conference, the Propaganda Department also provided information on other topics such as: the security and social order situation; and the foreign affairs work of the Party and the State in 2017.

Regarding the propaganda orientation for January 2018, Comrade Kha Van Tam requested that speakers focus on prominently publicizing Resolution 08-NQ/TU, in order to develop a comprehensive implementation plan.

In addition, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requested that localities promptly disseminate information on the results of the 6th Central Committee Conference (12th term), especially Resolution No. 18 "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the organizational structure of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient".

This Resolution is of significant importance in addressing the relationship between economic reform and political reform, aiming to strengthen the Party's leadership role, enhance the effectiveness of State management, and promote the people's role as masters of their own destiny.

The speakers also need to focus on publicizing the high-level foreign affairs activities of the Party and the State, and current events both domestically and internationally.

One of the important topics that the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department has focused on is the results of the four-year implementation of Resolution 26 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for the development of Nghe An province until 2020.
