Building Nghe An into a province with a livable environment

At the conference, the leader of the Propaganda Department emphasized that Resolution 08-NQ/TU aims to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Party's leadership and the State's management of the environment, to prevent the emergence of "hot spots" and potential risks of serious environmental pollution; at the same time, to solve urgent environmental problems, handle areas of environmental pollution, gradually improve the environment in localities, and build Nghe An into a province with a livable environment.

Nghe An province clearly identifies environmental protection as a key, regular task of the entire political system, with the motto of taking prevention as the main task, combined with overcoming and handling pollution, encouraging the application of modern technology, environmentally friendly technology, conserving nature and responding to climate change.

Specific targets by 2020 are determined: 100% of investment projects are confirmed to have completed environmental protection works serving the operation phase; 100% of production and business establishments investing in systems are inspected, examined, and guided on environmental work; 80% of production and business establishments meet environmental standards; 85% of establishments causing environmental pollution or serious environmental pollution are removed from the list...

By 2025, 100% of production and business establishments will meet environmental standards, 100% of establishments causing environmental pollution or serious environmental pollution will be removed from the list; 100% of urban areas of type IV or higher will have centralized wastewater treatment systems that meet standards; 90% of craft villages will be encouraged to develop to ensure environmental protection.

At the conference, the Propaganda Department also informed about other contents such as: security and order situation, social safety; foreign affairs work of the Party and State in 2017.

Regarding the propaganda orientation for January 2018, comrade Kha Van Tam requested that reporters focus on promoting Resolution 08-NQ/TU in order to develop a comprehensive implementation plan.

In addition, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requested localities to promptly disseminate information on the results of the 6th Central Conference (term XII), especially Resolution No. 18 "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently".

This Resolution is of great significance in resolving the relationship between economic innovation and political innovation, aiming to strengthen the Party's leadership role, improve the State's management effectiveness, and promote the people's role as masters.

Reporters also need to focus on propagating high-level foreign affairs activities of the Party and State, and current events at home and abroad.

One of the important contents oriented by the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department is the results of 4 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks of Nghe An development until 2020.
