Illegal construction of houses on coastal forest land in Quynh Thuan
(Baonghean.vn) - In defiance of the law, a household hired workers to illegally build a house on coastal forest land in Quynh Thuan commune (Quynh Luu).
The house under construction belongs to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoang's family, residing in Hamlet 1, Quynh Thuan Commune. A few days ago, Mr. Hoang hired workers to build a house on the protected forest land. The construction site is about 100 meters above sea level to the east and about 20 meters from the sea dike to the west.

This is a coastal casuarina forest area that functions as a wind and sand barrier and cannot be encroached upon to build illegal structures without permission from the authorities. However, people brazenly gathered materials and built houses for their own benefit without any inspection by the local authorities.
On the afternoon of June 5, discussing this incident, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Thuan Commune said that he did not know about the incident. Immediately after that, he called to verify and admitted that the incident reported by the reporter was correct.

Mr. Tuan added that the commune will establish an inspection team to go to the scene to make a record, suspend construction and strictly handle the above household according to regulations.
