Illegal construction of houses on coastal forest land in Quynh Thuan.

(Baonghean.vn) - Despite legal regulations, a household has hired builders to construct an illegal house on coastal forest land in Quynh Thuan commune (Quynh Luu district).

The house under construction belongs to the family of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoang, residing in Hamlet 1, Quynh Thuan Commune. A few days ago, Mr. Hoang hired workers to build a house on a plot of protected forest land. The construction site is located approximately 100 meters east of the sea and about 20 meters west of the sea dike.

This is a coastal casuarina forest area that functions as a windbreak and sand barrier, and it is prohibited to encroach upon it for illegal construction without permission from the authorities. However, people have brazenly stockpiled materials and built a house for personal gain without any inspection from the local government.

On the afternoon of June 5th, when asked about the incident, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Thuan commune, claimed to be unaware of the matter. Immediately afterwards, he called to verify the information and confirmed that the reporter's account was accurate.

Mr. Tuan added that the commune will form an inspection team to go to the site to draw up a report, suspend construction, and strictly handle the aforementioned household according to regulations.
