While deployed on duty on the Phap Van-Cau Gie expressway, a fire truck was hit head-on by a passenger bus, leaving nine people seriously injured.
According to the latest information, at approximately 4:30 PM on March 18th, a fire truck from Fire and Rescue Police Station No. 12 (PCCC No. 12), while on a rescue mission responding to an accident on the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, traveling against the flow of traffic from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, was hit head-on by a 45-seat passenger bus with license plate 29B - 078.43 traveling in the opposite direction at Km 192.

Because both vehicles were traveling at very high speeds, the collision was extremely violent, resulting in nine people being seriously injured and both vehicles sustaining significant damage.
Authorities have sealed off the scene.
Regarding the above information, the leader of Fire and Rescue Police Station No. 12 confirmed the incident and stated: “At the time of the accident, the fire truck, which was on a mission to provide emergency assistance, was traveling against the flow of traffic on the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway when it was hit head-on. As a result, 9 people were seriously injured, including 4 firefighters from the station and 5 people on the passenger bus.”

Immediately after the incident occurred, law enforcement officers quickly arrived to take the victim to the hospital, cordon off the scene, and regulate traffic to facilitate the investigation.
Authorities proceeded to take the injured person to the hospital for treatment.
Observations after the accident revealed that the front of the passenger bus and the fire truck were severely damaged, causing traffic congestion for hours and making it very difficult for authorities to manage traffic flow and conduct investigations.

According to the initial assessment of the cause, the leader of Fire and Rescue Police Station No. 12 stated that both vehicles were traveling at high speed on a road shrouded in drizzle and fog, limiting visibility and causing slippery conditions, leading to both drivers losing control of their speed.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
