The 'supercar' Toyota Sequoia 2016 is priced at 6 billion VND in Vietnam.

This large SUV uses a 5.7-liter V8 engine and features a muscular yet simple design in a road-going style.

A 2016 Toyota Sequoia Platinum arrived at VICT port (Saigon) around the beginning of July, imported by a car showroom. The car has now been sold and registered, with an on-the-road price of approximately 6 billion VND, including over 5 billion VND for the car itself and the remainder for other fees. According to the showroom owner, this is the first one to arrive in Vietnam.

The Sequoia is a large SUV that Toyota has been developing for the North American market since 2001. The 2016 version is the second generation, starting from 2008. The Sequoia has a muscular and simple exterior, similar to the Tundra pickup truck, which shares the same platform. It has a 7-seat interior.

The Sequoia's design, from exterior to interior, is simple and geared towards long-distance driving, rather than following the current trend of refined aesthetics. In the Platinum version imported to Vietnam, the interior is more luxurious than the standard versions, featuring a wood-trimmed steering wheel and gear shift, leather seats and center armrest, and a leather-wrapped glove box.

The large SUV is equipped with height-adjustable, 10-way power-adjustable, and heated driver's seats.Adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera, 3-zone automatic climate control. 14-speaker sound system with AUX and USB connectivity.

The 2016 Sequoia Platinum uses a 5.7-liter V8 engine producing 381 horsepower and 544 Nm of torque. It uses an automatic transmission.Six-speed transmission, with a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Safety technology includes airbags for all three rows of seats, automatic headlight washers, ABS brakes, emergency braking, vehicle stability control, traction control, and tire pressure monitoring system.

The Toyota Sequoia is a competitor to thoseFord Expedition, Chevrolet Tahoe, and GYM Yukon are popular models in the US market. This model is a novelty in the Vietnamese market; previously, the large SUV segment was dominated by luxury brands, but in the near future, mainstream manufacturers may also introduce larger models.
