Motorbikes driving in the wrong lane can be fined up to 14 million VND

According to Point d, Clause 3, Article 7 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, drivers of motorbikes, motorbikes, and motorbike-like vehicles will be fined from VND 600,000 to VND 800,000 (previously from VND 400,000 to VND 600,000) when committing the following violations:
Driving on the wrong side of the road;
Driving in the wrong lane or section of the road (lane in the same direction or lane in the opposite direction);
Drive the vehicle across the fixed median strip between the two lanes of traffic.
In addition, according to Point d, Clause 13, Article 7 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, in case a motorbike driver drives in the wrong lane and causes a traffic accident, he/she will be fined from 10 to 14 million VND (previously from 4 to 5 million VND) and have 10 points deducted from his/her driving license.
Thus, the fine for driving in the wrong lane with motorbikes from 2025 has been increased, including a sharp increase in the case of driving in the wrong lane causing a traffic accident.
