(Baonghean.vn) - Illegal land exploitation activities have been taking place openly and loudly in the Len Doi area, hamlet 12, Nghi Yen commune, Nghi Loc district (Nghe An) for many days. However, the local authorities claim to be unaware.

People reported that in the past few days, in the area of Len Doi, hamlet 12, Nghi Yen commune, Nghi Loc district (Nghe An), a business has been illegally exploiting land.
On February 27, at the Len Doi area, the reporter witnessed illegal land exploitation activities taking place as reported by the people. At the scene, an excavator was operating at full capacity, scooping soil and dumping it onto a truck. Each vehicle followed one another to "eat soil" without encountering any inspection or prevention from the authorities.

The excavator also dug deep into the mountain, many areas were dug up, creating deep holes. According to the people's reflection, this illegal mining enterprise belongs to Duc Hai company, located in Nghi Yen commune.
When they discovered strangers taking photos and recording videos, the drivers informed each other, and then the illegal mining activities were stopped. The reporter contacted the leaders of Nghi Loc District People's Committee and was told that they would request the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to go to the scene to check immediately.

Mr. Dau Xuan Luan - Chairman of Nghi Yen Commune People's Committee, Nghi Loc District said that when receiving the report, the commune sent people to catch them red-handed, but all mining activities had stopped, mining vehicles such as excavators and large trucks were just parked in one place and there was no mining activity.
“The land here is not licensed by the authorities, so the mining activities are illegal. I have assigned my colleagues to continue monitoring and tracking the illegal mining situation here, but since yesterday they have stopped mining…” said Mr. Luan.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Diep - Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Nghi Loc district also said: "After receiving the information reported by the press, I assigned my colleagues to coordinate with the commune forces and the district police to go to the scene to handle the situation. However, when our forces arrived at the site of the land exploitation, there was no more exploitation. The vehicles were lying in one place, no one was seen there anymore..."
“In the coming time, I have asked the police force to strengthen supervision to prevent illegal land exploitation in the area, causing loss of resources. If we see any exploitation activities, we will handle them immediately, without covering them up and absolutely without giving the green light...”, Mr. Diep affirmed.
