(Baonghean.vn) - The Nghe An Market Management Force, in coordination with the Environmental Police and the Nghe An Provincial Police, discovered 720 kg of Chinese-origin cabbage being transported in a truck without valid documentation for sale in Vinh City.

At 4:00 AM on November 11th, the Mobile Market Management Team discovered a truck with license plate 34C-08686, owned and operated by Mr. Nguyen Van Quan (born in 1982), residing in Thanh Mien Town, Hai Duong Province, which was stopped and unloading goods at the Quan Bau intersection in Vinh City.

A quantity of cabbage originating from China, without proper documentation, was seized.

During an inspection, the Mobile Market Management Team discovered 720 kg of cabbage in a truck without valid documentation, originating from China. The owner stated that he was a vegetable and fruit trader and was transporting the goods from Hai Duong to Nghe An for sale, with the shipment valued at over 5 million VND.

The confiscated goods were gathered at the market management agency awaiting processing according to regulations.

After inspection, the Market Management Agency confiscated all the infringing goods and imposed an administrative fine of 4 million VND on the driver. The confiscated goods will be destroyed by the authorities in accordance with the law.

In a short period of time, the market management agency handled 6 cases of violations involving smuggled vegetables and fruits without quarantine certificates, with a total fine of over 100 million VND.

Thus, from June 2016 to the present, the Nghe An Market Management Agency has handled 6 cases of violations involving smuggled vegetables and fruits without quarantine certificates, with a total fine of over 100 million VND. This includes nearly 38 million VND in administrative fines and over 70 million VND worth of confiscated goods.
