(Baonghean.vn) - Although he is a bank employee, Tuan Anh has a strange passion for pet reptiles. In his collection there are cute cicadas, strange frogs, snakes, colorful turtles...
As a bank employee, his job is quite busy but Nguyen Tuan Anh (born in 1987, residing in Quan Bau ward, Vinh city) is very passionate and spends a lot of time playing with reptiles. In the photo is a small Green Iguana (South American green iguana), imported from Thailand. |
Tuan Anh said that each species of reptile has its own habits and preferences, requiring the player to truly understand their lifestyle. For example, South American iguanas are used to living in hot environments, so when building a cage, there must be 2 types of UVA and UVB lamps to warm them and replace sunlight so they can absorb vitamin D3, metabolize calcium and digest food... The food of this type of South American iguana is vegetables, fruits and some types of dry food produced specifically for this species. |

In addition, Tuan Anh also raises almino soft-shell turtles (photo above), golden mountain turtles (photo below), alligator turtles, black-backed box turtles... |
In particular, Tuan Anh also owns some species such as corn snakes (picture above) and pythons (picture below). These are all gentle, non-venomous, easy to raise species but are picky about their owners. |

Tuan Anh said: Although imported reptiles are expensive (from 500-700 thousand VND to tens of millions of VND, depending on shape and size), most of them are intelligent, gentle, less prone to diseases, easier to raise and tame than domestic reptiles. The important thing is to have passion, devote love, time to care and take care of them so that they can be truly tamed. More than a year ago, in Vinh City, when the reptile-playing movement flourished, there were about a few dozen people raising iguanas, turtles..., mainly young people. However, most of them were just interested and curious but had not thoroughly learned how to raise them, had not invested properly in cages, lights, food... so the animals did not live long. Currently, in Vinh City, there are only less than 10 people who are still attached to and truly passionate about this hobby, most of them are civil servants and business people. |
