(Baonghean.vn) - According to the results announced by the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, in the provincial-level excellent student selection exam for grades 9 and 11 in the 2016-2017 school year, more than 58% of participating students were recognized as excellent students at the provincial level.
Accordingly, out of 1,286 students in grade 9 who participated in the competition, 741 were recognized as excellent students, achieving a success rate of 57.62%. Among these, there were 29 first prizes, 156 second prizes, 304 third prizes, and 252 consolation prizes.
Regarding the number of high-achieving students, Vinh City remains the leading unit this year with a pass rate of 71.43%. However, Anh Son and Cua Lo have risen in the rankings with high pass rates exceeding 70%.

In the 11th grade, this year's exam had 2,046 participants, with 1,191 achieving excellent grades, representing a rate of 58.21%. This included 55 first prizes, 315 second prizes, 490 third prizes, and 331 consolation prizes.
In terms of collective achievements, besides the "champion" position belonging to Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School, this is the second consecutive year that Do Luong 1 High School has continued to hold the "runner-up" position on the performance ranking.
Many other schools also made significant progress, including Nguyen Duy Trinh High School in Nghi Loc, which rose from 7th place last year to 4th place. Quynh Luu 1 High School, after a year of falling out of the top 10, has now climbed to 3rd place.
The next positions were held by Hoang Mai High School, Phan Dang Luu High School, Cua Lo High School, Anh Son 1 High School, Ethnic Boarding High School 2, and Huynh Thuc Khang High School.
The 2016-2017 selection exams for gifted students in grades 9 and 11 showcased the efforts of many schools in mountainous areas. In particular, the grade 9 students from Con Cuong district consistently ranked first in the gifted student category B (the category for schools in mountainous areas) for many consecutive years. In the 11th grade category, for schools in mountainous areas and private schools, Con Cuong High School, which took first place last year, has now been taken over by Quy Chau High School. Following them are Con Cuong High School, Nguyen Truong To High School - Vinh City, and Hermann Gmainer School. In the Continuing Education sector, 51 students participated in the exam, and 31 students were recognized as excellent students, accounting for 60.78%. |
