The Xiaomi 18 Pro surprises with its 200MP dual-camera system in a compact body.
The latest leaks reveal that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will feature two 200MP cameras and a 6.3-inch screen, fitting the Ultra series' specifications into a comfortable, ergonomic design.
The trend of compact smartphones with powerful specifications is making a strong comeback. The latest leaks suggest that the Xiaomi 18 Pro could be a pioneering device, integrating a dual-camera system with a resolution of up to 200MP into a screen size of only 6.3 inches.
Dual 200MP camera system: A new step forward for the Pro series.
According to the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, an upcoming compact high-end phone with a 6.3-inch screen will feature two rear cameras with a 200MP resolution. Based on precedents from the Xiaomi 17 series, tech experts believe the device in question is the Xiaomi 18 Pro.

Specifically, this system is expected to include a 200MP main camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. This configuration is typically only found on ultra-premium models like the vivo X300 Ultra or Oppo Find X9s. Integrating a 200MP sensor into a periscope lens within a compact body demonstrates Xiaomi's effort to overcome the physical size barrier to flagship photography capabilities.
Maintain the distinctive design and secondary display.
Besides camera improvements, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to retain the familiar design language from its predecessor instead of a complete overhaul. Notably, the device will likely continue to feature a secondary display on the back, a feature that optimizes selfie photography using the main camera or displays notifications quickly.

Besides the Pro version, the standard Xiaomi 18-inch model is also rumored to have a telephoto camera with a periscope lens. This suggests that Xiaomi is pushing for a more consistent photography experience across its entire product line, rather than reserving all the latest technologies for the Pro or Ultra versions as in the past.
Hardware specifications and release date
In terms of internal power, the Xiaomi 18 series is expected to feature the next-generation high-end chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. This chipset promises superior image processing performance to handle ultra-high-resolution camera systems.

There is currently no official information regarding the price. However, this flagship model is likely to launch later this year, after Qualcomm announces its new generation of processors. It will be a formidable competitor in the compact high-end smartphone segment, where users often have to compromise on optical zoom capabilities for portability.
