(Baonghean.vn) - Twenty-nine years ago, in July 1993, journalist and poet Tran Van Hien, while visiting the Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery, was deeply saddened to see rows of white tombstones bearing the inscription "Unknown Martyr." In his empathy for the families of the martyrs, the poet wrote six stanzas of the poem "Please Don't Call Him an Unknown Martyr." The poem touched the hearts of many, reminding present and future generations to always cherish the past and the noble sacrifices of countless ancestors who came before for the beautiful life we have today.
