Xa Luong, Tam Thai and Thach Giam town are the localities with the largest mango acreage in Tuong Duong district. These days, people in these localities are harvesting mangoes to bring to the market or lining them up on both sides of National Highway 7 to sell. This year, mangoes are in season and easy to sell, so everyone is very excited.
Ms. Ngan Thi Ky in Cay Me village, Tam Thai commune (Tuong Duong) shared: “This year the weather is favorable so the mango crop is good, the yield is 3-4 times higher than last year. My family has 9 mango trees, last year the harvest was only about 1-2 quintals, this year we expect to harvest about 4-5 quintals. This year's mango crop is good and easy to sell, we are very excited”.

Last year, the price of mangoes was slightly higher than this year, but the mango crop failed, so the income of households decreased. This year, the mango crop was good and the price was high, so the income was 2-3 times higher than last year. Ms. Lo Thi Huong, Tam Thai commune said: "Currently, the price of mangoes ranges from 25-30 thousand VND/kg, if the mangoes are selected, the price is higher. Compared to previous years, this year, the mango crop was both good and the price was high, so the income was much higher."
Tuong Duong mango specialty is characterized by small fruit, slightly oval shape, quite rough skin, not smooth and shiny like other types of mango, has a sweet taste and characteristic aroma.

In addition, Tuong Duong mangoes can be harvested and sold when the fruit is still green, because at this stage the fruit is very crispy, not sour, and can be transported long distances without fear of damage. Thanks to that, Tuong Duong mangoes are always favored by many people near and far.
“Every year, at the beginning of the mango season, I have to order in advance from the garden owners because I am afraid of a shortage of supply. Customers really like Tuong Duong mangoes because of their crunchiness and characteristic sweetness. After harvesting, we often sell them along both sides of National Highway 7. We sell all the mangoes we harvest. The selling price ranges from 25,000 to 30,000 VND/kg,” said Vi Thi My, a mango trader in Tam Thai commune.

It is known that the whole district of Tuong Duong currently has about 24.2 hectares, equivalent to 4,852 mango trees. This is a native crop that has existed for a long time with the advantages of being drought-resistant, growing well on sloping land, easy to plant, easy to care for and currently has a good consumption market.
To increase people's income, in recent years, Tuong Duong district has re-planned mango growing areas, continued to restore and improve low-yield mango gardens and expanded commercial growing areas.

At the same time, move towards building Tuong Duong mango products into OCOP products.
