Vietnamese mangoes are available in supermarkets and wholesale markets in Australia.

After nine years of negotiations, Australia has finally officially allowed the import of fresh Vietnamese mangoes into its market.

The Vietnam Trade Office in Australia announced that the first shipment of fresh mangoes will arrive in the Australian market this September. This shipment comes from the Suoi Lon Mango Cooperative in Xuan Hung commune, Xuan Loc district, Dong Nai province, which has negotiated and reached an agreement with two Australian partners.

Mangoes are the second Vietnamese fruit (after lychees) to be granted import permission by Australia.

In the coming period, approximately 18 tons of mangoes from the cooperative will be imported into this market daily for sale in supermarkets and wholesale markets.

Vietnam applied for permission to import mangoes into this country in 2009. After many rounds of negotiations and a process of evaluation, inspection, and surveying from the growing areas to the packaging facilities and pest control, mangoes became the second fresh fruit from Vietnam, after lychees, to be granted permission to enter this market, which is considered to be very demanding.

To promote trade and quickly introduce Vietnamese mangoes to the Australian market, after receiving permission, a presentation of Vietnamese mangoes was organized on the sidelines of the Australian International Food Fair, connecting businesses to bring Vietnamese mangoes into this market.

At the same time, we encourage Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese products when introducing them for consumption in Asian markets and large supermarkets in Australia.

In addition, a memorandum of understanding on supporting the consumption of Vietnamese agricultural products in general, and fresh fruits such as lychees and mangoes in particular, was signed between the Vietnamese Trade Office and the Vietnamese Business Association in Australia.
