In its latest user feedback on the X9 Super Range Extender, XPeng has detailed the engineering solutions that help the vehicle operate stably and charge efficiently in harsh, icy weather conditions. The focus of these upgrades lies in improved dynamic control and intelligent thermal management.
Optimize traction with Snow mode and dTCS 2.0 system.
To cope with slippery road surfaces, XPeng recommends users activate Snow Mode. This system leverages the vehicle's highly integrated architecture with an ideal 50:50 front-to-rear axle load distribution ratio, creating a stable foundation for a secure driving feel.
In particular, the XPeng X9 is equipped with dTCS 2.0 early response distributed traction control technology. This is a first in the automotive industry, capable of recognizing the road surface and adjusting traction and braking torque on each wheel in just milliseconds. The system's reaction speed is 10 to 20 times faster than traditional gasoline-powered vehicles, helping to transfer traction to the wheel with the best grip to prevent wheel slippage.
AI chassis and active rear-wheel steering system.
The vehicle's safety is further enhanced by its AI-controlled chassis system. The system continuously monitors traction and intervenes immediately upon detecting a risk of skidding, maintaining vehicle stability without restricting speed or torque under normal driving conditions. Only when the Traction Control System (TCS) is activated does the system intervene in torque control to ensure safety.
Furthermore, the rear-wheel steering dynamic control feature plays a crucial role when accelerating or braking sharply on icy or snowy roads. By actively adjusting the rear-wheel steering angle, the vehicle can counteract the tendency to veer due to uneven traction, eliminating the understeer or oversteer often encountered on slippery surfaces.
Fast charging solution through intelligent thermal management.
In low temperatures, battery performance often degrades significantly. To overcome this, XPeng offers a "Navigation intelligent pre-heating" feature. When the driver sets a route to a charging station, the system automatically preheats the battery to ensure it reaches optimal operating temperature as soon as the vehicle arrives.
Additionally, users can opt for the "Start pre-heating immediately" mode right at the charging station. Maintaining a stable battery temperature not only helps sustain super-fast charging speeds but also protects the long-term lifespan of the energy storage system in cold climates.
