The above information spread very quickly, causing public confusion and disrupting people's lives. After initial verification, the results showed that the above information was completely fabricated and inaccurate.
“When receiving information, people need to verify and be cautious before sharing it widely on social networks, because sharing false information will unintentionally help bad guys, affecting people's lives and social security and order,” said a leader of Quang Binh province police.
It is known that the act of "providing false information, slandering, distorting, or insulting the reputation of an agency or organization or the honor and dignity of an individual" will be subject to a fine of 20-30 million VND; a warning, non-custodial reform for up to 2 years, or imprisonment from 3 months to 2 years for those who fabricate or spread things they know are fabricated to insult the honor or cause damage to the rights and legitimate interests of others, or fabricate that others have committed crimes and denounce them to competent authorities.
