Fines of over 260 million VND for violations during Mid-Autumn Festival
(Baonghean.vn) - To prevent poor quality goods of unknown origin, Nghe An Market Management force has coordinated with functional agencies to strengthen inspection and control of goods consumed in large quantities during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Implementing the direction of the Central Market Management Department on strengthening market inspection and control during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Nghe An Market Management Department issued Official Dispatch No. 624/QLTT-KHTH dated August 14, 2018 "On strengthening market inspection and control during the Mid-Autumn Festival" to direct the Market Management Teams to organize and implement.
Through inspection, 113 cases were handled, with total fines of more than 260 million VND. Of which, administrative fines were more than 80 million VND, and the value of infringing goods was nearly 180 million VND.

The infringing goods included 852 children's toys of various types, mainly banned goods, smuggled goods, and goods of unknown origin. There were 1,036 boxes of expired candy; 220 boxes of milk and yogurt, and 359 kg of food of unknown origin.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Deputy Head of the Provincial Market Management Department added: During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the demand for buying cakes, candies and children's toys increases. Consumers should actively report to the authorities about smuggling, trading in prohibited goods, manufacturing and trading in counterfeit and poor quality goods... so that the authorities can handle them promptly according to the law.

Quynh Luu: Destroying banned, counterfeit and poor quality goods
On the afternoon of January 16, Quynh Luu District Police held a meeting to destroy a large quantity of banned, counterfeit, and low-quality goods and dangerous toys that had been seized in the past.

Vehicle transporting more than 1,000 children's toys on the list of prohibited goods was seized.
