According to local residents, the road surface at this intersection had previously shown signs of cracking and unevenness. Around 3 PM on June 25th, the road surface collapsed, creating a deep sinkhole.
According to our observations, the sinkhole is approximately 50 cm in diameter and is located right on the pedestrian walkway. There are many cracks around the rim, which could cause the landslide area to expand. If pedestrians are not careful, accidents could easily occur.
After a sinkhole appeared on the road, residents immediately reported it to the head of residential group No. 15, Truong Thi ward, to find a solution. Officials from Truong Thi ward, along with Vinh Urban Infrastructure Company, arrived at the scene to cordon off the area with safety ropes and erect wooden planks and branches as warning signs for passersby.

However, this is only a temporary solution. According to Mr. Doan Xuan Hung, team leader of the urban order team in Truong Thi ward, the cause of this incident is likely a broken underground water pipe, causing water to flood the road, washing away soil and sand, and leading to landslides. On the morning of June 26th, authorities will survey the scene and promptly address the issue to ensure the safety of road users.
