This is a special art program to celebrate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024), jointly produced by Nghe An Radio - Television Station and Thua Thien Hue Radio - Television Station, broadcast live from two locations: Hoang Tru Village, Kim Lien Commune, Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province and Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province, and rebroadcast by 43 Radio - Television stations nationwide.
Attending the program, at Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen The Ky - Former member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Council for Literature and Art Criticism; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Major General Bui Quang Thanh - Director of the Provincial Police.
Also attending were members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Pham Tuan Vinh - Secretary of the Provincial Agencies Party Committee; Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; Nguyen Xuan Duc - Secretary of the Nam Dan District Party Committee; representatives of the Nguyen Sinh and Hoang Xuan families.
On the side of Thua Thien Hue province, there were comrades: Phan Ngoc Tho - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Nam Tien - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thua Thien Hue province; Hoang Khanh Hung - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the province.
During the 79 springs, Uncle Ho lived in his hometown Nam Dan (Nghe An) for 10 years and in the ancient capital Hue for 10 years (from 1895 to 1901 and from 1906 to 1909). If Nam Dan was his birthplace with a tradition of patriotism, mandarin education, morality and aspiration to rise up, then Hue, the land that holds many memories of his arduous and difficult childhood, was also the place where he was exposed to the light of Western knowledge, met many teachers and great intellectuals of the time.
Resonating with those special things, on the occasion of the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024), with the consent of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Nghe An province and Thua Thien Hue province, the Radio and Television Stations of the two provinces conducted a live television broadcast "Lotus Village nurtures great ambitions", recreating the childhood and teenage years of the President, in two historical places: Kim Lien - Nam Dan - Nghe An and Quoc Hoc Hue School - Hue City.
With a duration of about 110 minutes, "Lotus Village Nurtures Great Ambitions" consists of 3 parts:
Part 1 "Home Tradition" recreates the impact of homeland and family in shaping his personality and revolutionary aspirations.
Part 2 "The pain of losing one's home and country" focuses on introducing President Ho Chi Minh's time in Hue, where the pain of losing loved ones and the pain of losing one's country resonated.
Part 3 "The Origin of Great Ambition" tells about the years 1901 to 1909, an important period that created the development of awareness, forming a shift in his national salvation ideology through contact with many patriotic Confucian scholars and progressive people.
With a simple live stage as well as through valuable documentary footage, famous songs imbued with the sounds of Nghe Tinh folk songs, Nghe Tinh folk songs and Hue songs written about Uncle Ho, along with the analysis of researchers about Ho Chi Minh, combined together to create an emotional and in-depth story about his childhood and adolescence, the program helps viewers feel more clearly and authentically about the lands associated with Uncle Ho as well as the formation of the great man, world cultural celebrity, President Ho Chi Minh, beloved by our nation.
