(Baonghean.vn) - From October 12th to the present, six more communes in Yen Thanh district have been infected with African swine fever: Do Thanh, Hop Thanh, Tien Thanh, Lang Thanh, Tay Thanh, and Bac Thanh.

Accordingly, six new communes have reported outbreaks: Do Thanh, Hop Thanh, Tien Thanh, Lang Thanh, Tay Thanh, and Bac Thanh. Thus, currently, 13 out of 39 communes and towns in the district have African swine fever. However, the outbreaks are occurring in small-scale pig farming households.

Given the widespread outbreak, Yen Thanh district has provided 760 liters of disinfectant chemicals to communes for environmental disinfection; for lime powder, localities have proactively funded its purchase to serve the disease prevention and control efforts. The District People's Committee has also established a disease prevention and control steering committee, assigning specialized staff to directly go to the grassroots level, coordinating with localities to carry out disease prevention and control work.
Currently, Yen Thanh district has over 82,500 pigs. Given the complex situation of disease outbreaks, local authorities and farmers need to implement effective disease prevention and control measures to protect the pig herd.
