Yen Thanh: More than 13,000 farming households are good at production and business

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 2, the Farmers' Association of Yen Thanh district held a conference to summarize the movement."Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" period 2012-2016.

From 2012 to present, Yen Thanh has organized nearly 1,000 propaganda sessions to implement the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably" with over 10,000 members participating. Every year, it builds 5-7 economic development models, issues many mechanisms and policies to subsidize crop varieties for farmers from 20-50%.

Mr. Le Van Hanh's VietGap mushroom production model in hamlet 12, Son Thanh commune has an annual revenue of more than 2.5 billion VND.

Taking advantage of the support from departments, branches, organizations and resources, the Farmers' Association at all levels has organized thousands of training courses, vocational training, and transferred science and technology to tens of thousands of farmer members. The District Farmers' Association has also received a trust from the Farmers' Support Fund at all levels with an amount of 2.5 billion VND for 5 units with 53 households to borrow to invest in building models following VietGap. Through banks, thousands of households have borrowed capital with an outstanding debt of nearly 180 billion VND to invest in building 942 large-scale farm and ranch models...

Thanks to capital support and training in science and technology transfer, many farming households in Yen Thanh have built models of raising high-income specialty animals.

In addition, the District Farmers' Association also promotes consulting activities, supports farmers in production and business, builds pilot models, guides farmers to develop collective economic models, supplies nearly 2,000 tons of fertilizer each year in the form of deferred payment; establishes 13 effective cooperatives such as: Doan Ket Mushroom Production Cooperative; Thong Nhat Orange Production and Trading Cooperative; Thanh Nien Cooperative... has just organized production, product consumption, achieving revenue from 2.5 - 8 billion VND/year; creates jobs for hundreds of workers in the localities.

Up to now, Yen Thanh district has had 13,117 farming households meeting the standards of good production and business at all levels, an increase of 8,850 households compared to 2012.

Awarding certificates of merit from the District People's Committee to collectives and individuals with achievements in implementing the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty", period 2012-2016.

At the conference, leaders of Yen Thanh district and the district Farmers' Association awarded certificates of merit to 109 collectives and individuals with achievements in implementing the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" in the period 2012-2016./.
