Yen Thanh: Over 13,000 farming households excel in production and business.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 2nd, the Yen Thanh District Farmers' Association held a conference to summarize the movement."Farmers compete in excellent production and business, unite to help each other get rich and achieve sustainable poverty reduction" - 2012-2016.

From 2012 to the present, Yen Thanh district has organized nearly 1,000 propaganda sessions to implement the movement "Farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty," with over 10,000 members participating. Annually, 5-7 economic development models are developed, and many mechanisms and policies are issued to subsidize plant seeds for farmers by 20-50%.

Mr. Le Van Hanh's VietGap mushroom production model in Hamlet 12, Son Thanh Commune, generates over 2.5 billion VND in revenue annually.

Taking advantage of the attention and support from departments, organizations, and resources, the Farmers' Association at all levels has organized thousands of training courses, vocational training, and technology transfer programs for tens of thousands of farmer members. The district Farmers' Association also received entrusted funds from the Farmers' Support Fund at all levels totaling 2.5 billion VND for 5 units with 53 households to invest in building models according to VietGAP standards. Through banks, thousands of households have received loans with outstanding balances of nearly 180 billion VND to invest in building 942 farm and small-scale farm models...

Thanks to financial support and training in scientific and technological transfer, many farmers in Yen Thanh have developed models for raising specialty livestock that generate high incomes.

In addition, the District Farmers' Association has also promoted activities to advise and support farmers in production and business, build model projects, guide farmers in developing collective economic models, and supply nearly 2,000 tons of fertilizer annually on a deferred payment basis; established 13 effective cooperatives such as: Doan Ket Mushroom Production Cooperative; Thong Nhat Orange Production and Business Cooperative; Thanh Nien Cooperative... which organize production and product distribution, achieving revenue from 2.5 to 8 billion VND/year; and created jobs for hundreds of workers in the localities.

To date, Yen Thanh district has 13,117 farming households that have met the standards for excellent production and business at all levels, an increase of 8,850 households compared to 2012.

The District People's Committee awarded certificates of commendation to collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in implementing the movement "Farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty," during the period 2012-2016.

At the conference, the leaders of Yen Thanh district and the District Farmers' Association awarded certificates of merit to 109 collectives and individuals for their achievements in implementing the movement "Farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" during the period 2012-2016.
