Yen Thanh is urgently completing the planting of 12,500 hectares of summer-autumn rice.
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to avoid natural disasters and floods, and to ensure safety in production, farmers in Yen Thanh are focusing on land preparation and accelerating the planting process, striving to complete the planting of 12,500 hectares of summer-autumn rice before June 10th.
To ensure food security and improve the quality and value of production, this year's summer-autumn crop in Yen Thanh district involves planting 12,500 hectares of rice, following the principle of planting as early as possible to ensure harvesting before the rainy season and freeing up land for winter crop production.

Thanks to the increased mechanization of farming, the entire district has sown and planted over 9,000 hectares to date. Specifically, 3,000 hectares in flood-prone areas were planted before May 30th using short-growing pure rice varieties, with many rice fields already taking root and turning green. For intensive farming areas, the district is focusing on ensuring that planting is not extended, but rather completed within 2-3 days for each area to facilitate care and pest control.

The district's agricultural sector has also focused on urging communes in the reservoir areas to regulate water resources rationally and switch to suitable crop structures to cope with climate change.
