Yen Thanh missed out on the championship title at the SLNA Children's Tournament 2017.

(Baonghean.vn) - Considered a strong contender for the championship in the 2017 SLNA Talent Class Football Tournament, the team from Yen Thanh, the rice-growing region, unfortunately lost in the final match.

To reach the final, Yen Thanh Children's team overcame a series of other strong teams, including amateur football teams from SLNA such as Vinh City, Do Luong II, Quy Hop, and Thai Hoa II. In the match to secure a place in the final, Yen Thanh Children's team staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Tan Ky 3-2.

Yen Thanh Children's team will face Vinh City 2 Children's team in the final. Coach Tran Ngoc Tuan's team has won all their matches against Dien Chau (4-2), Anh Son (6-1), Thai Hoa (9-3), and Nghi Loc (4-3) to secure first place in the group. The final match between Yen Thanh and Vinh City 2, taking place on the afternoon of November 19th, is expected to be an exciting and dramatic game.

Despite having a stronger squad, due to poor preparation, Yen Thanh performed almost below par in the final match. After 40 minutes of play, Vinh City 2 won 3-2, thus lifting the championship trophy much to the disappointment of the young Yen Thanh players.

In both tournaments held since 2016, teams from Vinh City have won the championship. Last year, Thai Hoa Children's team also posed a significant challenge to Vinh City, but the young players had to watch their opponents lift the trophy after a tense penalty shootout.
