Authorities order the recall of two batches of substandard dietary supplements.

The Food Safety Administration has ordered a temporary halt to the distribution and a recall of two batches of substandard products.

The Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) has just ordered the recall of two batches of substandard dietary supplements from France USA Pharmaceutical & Cosmetics Co., Ltd., located at 24T Building, No. 1 Nguyen Huy Tuong Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi.

Previously, on April 28th, a team from the Food Safety Department inspected the French-USA Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics Company and took three samples of dietary supplements for testing. The results showed that two samples failed to meet quality standards: Amkazym dietary supplement, batch number: 770615, manufactured on June 29, 2015, and Men TH Biotyl dietary supplement, batch number: 280714, manufactured on July 18, 2014.

The Food Safety Department has requested the company to temporarily suspend distribution and recall the two aforementioned product batches. At the same time, it has requested the Departments of Health in provinces and cities to monitor the distribution within their areas and, if violations are detected, to take appropriate action according to regulations.

The inspection team from the Food Safety Department also requested the French-USA Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics Company to temporarily suspend distribution, recall, and implement corrective measures for four other batches of dietary supplements with incorrect labeling. The Department then proceeded to collect samples from other product batches and other products of this company for further verification.
