Zidane could be fined for defending Ronaldo
The French coach is being investigated by the Technical Referee Committee after criticisms he made at a press conference on August 15.
Zinedine Zidane said at a press conference ahead of the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Barca at the Bernabeu: "Ronaldo has received a very heavy punishment. The disciplinary committee needs to review the whole thing. Banning him for five matches was a mistake."
These comments by the French legend have led to him being investigated by the Spanish Referee Technical Committee. According to Marca, Zidane could be fined.

The punishment for the Real coach, if any, is not the first case to happen in La Liga. Previously, Gerard Pique and Jose Mourinho were fined for criticizing and using inappropriate words towards Spanish football officials.
A source from the Spanish Football Federation told Marca: "Zidane's words are being studied. There could be a decision to reprimand and punish him."
Despite having a suspended sentence hanging over his head, Zidane and his players still won 2-0 in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup, thereby winning their second title of the 2017-2018 season.
