10 outstanding achievements of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union in 2024
In 2024, with the theme "Focus on implementing the resolutions of the trade union congresses at all levels; compete to achieve outstanding results to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union," the trade unions at all levels in Nghe An province united, strived, and innovated in organizing and implementing trade union activities, achieving many impressive results, with all 17 targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor being met or exceeded.
1. Many practical activities are focused on putting the resolutions of the trade union congresses at all levels into practice.
Immediately after the successful conclusion of the trade union congresses at all levels, the Provincial Federation of Labor developed and issued nine programs and plans to implement the resolutions of the 19th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union and the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union. It directed union members to actively participate in the online competition "Understanding the Resolutions of the Trade Union Congress and the Actions of Union Members and Workers," achieving third place nationwide (Phase 1) and third place nationwide in the Video Clip competition (Phase 2). Trade unions at all levels in the province closely followed the directives of the Provincial Federation of Labor to develop implementation plans; organized propaganda and dissemination to union members and workers; and conducted over 120 inspections and monitoring of the implementation of the resolutions of the Trade Union Congresses at all levels.

With the theme “Tet Reunion - Spring Sharing"The trade union branches in Nghe An province spent nearly 20 billion VND on Tet celebrations for nearly 23,000 union members and workers. Notable examples include: the program to give gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, the awarding of 'Trade Union Shelter Houses,' the 'Welcoming Workers Home for Tet' program, the 'Trade Union Tet Market' through e-commerce platforms, and 'Zero-Cost Booths'... Notably, many FDI enterprises organized various activities to care for their employees during Tet; they organized Tet gift giving and raffles for workers with valuable prizes such as televisions, refrigerators, and motorbikes..."

During Workers' Month 2024, trade unions at all levels throughout the province spent nearly 2.5 billion VND to organize activities such as visiting and giving gifts to more than 5,600 workers and employees in difficult circumstances, those who suffered work accidents or occupational diseases, and workers renting accommodation. They also supported the construction of "Trade Union Kitchens," the construction and repair of "Trade Union Shelters," and the organization of "Trade Union Meals"; and organized 105 welfare programs and activities benefiting 25,000 union members and workers. Many district-level units, sectors, and grassroots trade unions organized practical and meaningful activities such as: the "Your Health - Our Happiness" program, "Contributing Bricks to Build Houses for Needy Union Members," "Cooling Down the Summer," free motorcycle oil changes, non-profit stalls, and the "Your Health" program.
3. Numerous prominent events from the provincial to the grassroots level were held to commend and honor outstanding workers and trade union officials in celebration.celebrate134th Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's Birthday95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Trade Union
On the occasion of Workers' Month and the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, the Provincial Labor Union organized an awards ceremony to honor 95 "Nghe An workers following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings" - exemplary workers directly employed in enterprises and public service units in Nghe An province, who have achieved outstanding results in emulation movements and trade union activities, and have many highly applicable initiatives that have brought tens of billions of dong in benefits to the enterprises and units where they work.


To celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, the Provincial Federation of Labor organized a ceremony in Thai Binh province, the hometown of Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh, the first Chairman of the Red Trade Union, the predecessor of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, to report on their achievements. They also held a commendation ceremony in Hai Phong City. These exemplary trade union officials are passionate individuals who are dedicated to the movement, creative, skilled in advising, and have made many innovative contributions to trade union activities. On this occasion, many higher-level trade unions directly under the grassroots level, such as the Education Trade Union and the Labor Federations of Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai, Nghia Dan, Thai Hoa, Do Luong, Yen Thanh districts, and Vinh City, also organized commendations for outstanding workers and trade union officials.
4. Exceeding work targetssinging to promote union membership and establish grassroots trade unions.
In 2024, the Provincial Labor Union focused on implementing numerous solutions to strengthen membership development and establish grassroots trade unions, such as organizing workshops, allocating specific targets, and launching a campaign to "Develop union membership and establish grassroots trade unions"... As of November 30, 2024, 87 new grassroots trade unions were established, and 23,708 new members were admitted; the number of members increased by 18,330 compared to the beginning of the year (reaching 129.33%). During the year, 3 new grassroots fisheries trade unions were established, achieving 100% of the plan, and the number of members admitted to the informal sector reached 250.5% of the plan. With these efforts and high determination, the Provincial Labor Union was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for its outstanding achievements in membership development.

5. Successfully organized two meetings with voters. betweenWorkerswithMember of Parliament
Prior to the 7th and 8th sessions of the 15th National Assembly, the Provincial Labor Union coordinated the organization of two meetings with workers and laborers. At these meetings, workers and laborers expressed their thoughts, aspirations, proposals, and recommendations to the National Assembly regarding policies and laws related to workers and trade union activities, especially regulations on social insurance, health insurance, and the Trade Union Law; they also proposed ideas and solutions to promote socio-economic development, contributing to improving people's lives and realizing the nation's aspiration for prosperity and happiness. Within the framework of these meetings, delegates directly visited and presented gifts to workers and laborers in difficult circumstances.

6. Publication of the book "History of the Workers' and Employees' Movement and Trade Union Activities in Nghe An Province, Volume V", period 2006 - 2023".
This is a significant project commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union. After nine months of implementation, with the participation of experts, historians, and contributions from former provincial trade union leaders, and the organization of three workshops, the project was completed and published in December 2024. The project focuses on authentically recreating the activities of the workers' movement and the leadership of the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor during the period 2006-2023. Through this, it aims to motivate cadres, union members, and workers within the trade union organization to build upon achievements, overcome difficulties, promote innovation, successfully implement the industrialization and modernization of the country, and build a more developed Nghe An province, towards the goal of a prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

7. Organize the goodstens of thousands of workers and laborers in the enterprise.raising the flag and singing the national anthem.Expressing love and national pride.
The flag-raising ceremony and singing of the national anthem were implemented and directed simultaneously by the Provincial Labor Union during Workers' Month, to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, and the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth. Trade unions at the enterprise level, especially in FDI enterprises throughout the province, simultaneously organized the flag-raising ceremony and sang the national anthem every Monday morning..

The event attracted the attention of more than 20 local and international newspapers, and the information was widely covered on social media. This is because it is a new activity with great political significance, being the first of its kind in Nghe An province in particular and the whole country in general. The fact that it was organized within businesses, especially FDI enterprises, makes it even more important, further fostering national pride and a sense of responsibility among workers towards their businesses, hometowns, and country.
8.Exciting, surprising, impressive, and successful: The 2024 Nghe An Province Workers and Employees Singing Festival
The festival was held in 4 clusters with the participation of all 29 district, city, and industry trade union units, bringing together more than 1,000 performers - who are workers and employees.Nghe An Provincial Trade UnionWith 108 meticulously staged performances, diverse in genre, the festival focused on praising the glorious Party, the beloved President Ho Chi Minh, love for the homeland, the country, and the Vietnamese people; and celebrating the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union. Many performances praised various professions, reflecting the rich cultural identity of the nation and regions, revolutionary harmony, and the spirit of labor competition among workers in localities and units. In particular, some performances showcased and promoted the authentic image of workers in mass cultural and artistic activities, highlighting the beautiful regional cultures within the province. The festival created a strong appeal and widespread impact on a large number of union members, workers, and people in the area, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere.

9.First time More than 200 orphaned children of union members and workers participated in the "Connecting with Love" summer camp organized jointly by the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union.
Over 200 orphaned and disadvantaged children of union members and workers in Nghe An province participated in a series of beneficial activities such as: listening to lectures on the meaning of the five teachings of Uncle Ho, self-care and others' care skills, meal preparation skills, learning about gratitude, writing letters to loved ones, learning military regulations, participating in talent competitions, and performing folk dances… These activities instilled in the children a spirit of patriotism, national pride, and a beautiful way of life, especially instilling gratitude, love, and resilience, creating motivation for them to overcome their circumstances. This is also a practical activity of the trade union organization showing its care and concern for its members and workers.

10. Many milestones in cExternal relations and inspection work continued to be effective.Financial resources are increasingly ensuring the operation of trade unions.
In 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions consistently prioritized foreign relations activities. During the year, a delegation was organized to visit and work with the Gyeonggi Provincial Federation of Labor Unions in South Korea; and a meeting was held with the Xieng Khouang Provincial Federation of Labor Unions in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. These efforts further strengthened solidarity, friendship, experience sharing, and cooperation between the Nghe An Provincial Labor Union and the labor unions of neighboring countries.

The entire province conducted 2,999 inspections of the management and use of finances, assets, and economic activities of trade unions. Inspections of the implementation of the Charter were carried out in 2,713 instances. Through these inspections, a positive contribution was made to strengthening the role and responsibilities of trade union levels in implementing, directing, inspecting, and evaluating the implementation of activity programs, the implementation of the Vietnam Trade Union Charter, and the collection, expenditure, and management of trade union finances according to regulations.

Trade union levels have closely followed specific regulations in implementation, and the collection and distribution of revenue have been carried out rigorously. Funding has been focused on activities protecting the rights and interests of workers; disseminating resolutions, directives, and regulations of the Party, State, and trade union organizations; and organizing activities for Workers' Month... The allocation and remittance of funds have been carried out according to the schedule of revenue collection, ensuring the prescribed budget ratio.
