10 years in prison for drug 'debt dealer'
(Baonghean.vn) - Hoanh walked into the forest and met a Laotian man who owed him 13 million VND in drugs and 500 synthetic drug pills with the promise that he would return to pay the debt after selling them.
On April 13, 2022, Ky Son District People's Court held a first-instance trial and sentenced Lo Pho Hoanh (35 years old, residing in Keo Pha Tu village, Bac Ly commune) to 10 years in prison for the crime of“Illegal drug trafficking”.

According to the indictment, at about 7:00 p.m. on October 25, 2021, Lo Pho Hoanh walked into the forest area of Keo Nam village, Bac Ly commune, Ky Son district and met a man (Lao nationality). Here, Hoanh asked to buy from this man 01 block of drugs (heroin) and 50 pills.synthetic drugswith the amount of 13,000,000 VND (Hoanh promised to pay this amount later when all the drugs were sold).
Hoanh took the drug block, divided it into 8 packages, hid it with 50 synthetic drug pills on his person, then went to Keo Pha Tu village, Bac Ly commune, Ky Son district with the intention of selling it to addicts.
At about 6:30 p.m. on November 3, 2021, Hoanh was caught red-handed by the working group of Bac Ly Commune Police, My Ly Commune Police and My Ly Border Guard Station.
The Criminal Technical Department of Nghe An Provincial Police concluded: The white substance sample had a total mass of 9.7 grams; The pink tablet sample had a mass of 4.15 grams.
At the trial, the defendant admitted all the crimes as charged in the indictment. As for the man who sold drugs to Hoanh, whose background is unknown, the authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify.
