Fiat never made anything quite like the Abarth 127 in the early 1970s, but that didn't stop designer David Obendorfer from imagining a retro version of the car. David Obendorfer is a famous retro designer, and the Abarth 127 was inspired by the Renault 4 and Fiat 600. |
2. Audi Rosemeyer:

Before the R8 was produced, Audi had launched a Silver Arrows-inspired beast, named after racing driver Bernd Rosemeyer. The Rosemeyer had an 8-liter W16 engine, causing a stir at the motor shows in 2000. But it was deemed too expensive to produce commercially, and the Audi R8 was the perfect alternative. |
3. BMW M1 Hommage:

BMW wowed car enthusiasts when it unveiled the M1 Hommage at Villa d'Este in 2008. The car was a combination of modern spirit and mid-engine design from the 70s. BMW decided not to produce the car, but based on that platform, the German automaker launched the even more outstanding hybrid supercar BMW i8. |
4. Lamborghini Miura concept:

Forty years after Lamborghini created its first supercar, design director Walter de Silva came up with a retro-styled Miura concept in 1996. Creating a concept that looks like it came out of the 1940s when the brand was just 18 years old was no easy task, but Infiniti did it with the Prototype 9. The steel monocoque body houses a high-performance Nissan Leaf engine inside. However, the electric car is still far from the market with only two seats and a very small footprint. |

It is an all-terrain vehicle that will replace the Land Rover Defender, and was designed by Land Rover's design director, Gerry McGovern. 10. Nissan IDx:

The IDx concept was launched by Nissan at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, inspired by the Datsun 510 model produced between 1968 and 1973. The IDx NISMO version produces 200-230 horsepower from a 1.6L I4 engine, shared with the Juke NISMO, with a top speed of 210 km/h and acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7 seconds. However, with a price twice as high as the 370Z, the Nissan IDx goes against the direction of a cheap sports car and does not achieve the expected success. |
