In particular, in 2016 - 2017, violations in press activities were strongly handled by the Ministry of Information and Communications, ensuring that press agencies operate in accordance with their principles, purposes, and regulations of the Press Law.
At the third quarter state management conference last October, Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan requested the Press Department to strengthen information management in the press field.
"Request the Press Department to resolutely handle cases where press agencies operate contrary to their purposes and principles, report false and untrue news. This week, the Ministry of Information and Communications decided to temporarily suspend the Women and Life page of the Nguoi Dua Tin electronic newspaper, impose a fine of VND140 million, and revoke the operating license of the magazine Doanh Nghiep-Doanh Nhan and Thuong Hieu.
