100% of the suburban communes of Vinh City have met all 19 criteria for new rural development.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 19th, the Provincial Steering Committee for the New Rural Development Program, chaired by Mr. Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives from various departments, conducted an assessment of communes in Vinh City.

The delegation was accompanied by leaders from Vinh City.

Before working with the City People's Committee, the delegation inspected several criteria related to transportation and infrastructure in Nghi Duc and Nghi An communes.

Over the years, Vinh City's economy has maintained rapid and sustainable development, social life has improved in all aspects, political security has been maintained, and the living environment has improved across the board.

Regarding the policy of building new rural areas in the 9 suburban communes of Vinh City, the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee have directly led, directed, and disseminated documents from the Central Government and Nghe An province on policies, regulations, and legal guidelines on new rural areas in these areas for implementation.

To date, the city has mobilized 2,960,293 million VND, including 25,114 million VND from the central government budget (0.85%); 72,821 million VND from the provincial budget; 312,777.2 million VND from the city budget; 366.437 million VND from the commune budget; and 1,880,269 million VND contributed by the people. 90% of working-age people have regular employment.

Comrade Nguyen Ho Lam, Deputy Head of the Provincial New Rural Development Office Coordination Board, assessed that 100% of the New Rural Development criteria in Vinh City have been met or exceeded.

According to the assessment of the Provincial New Rural Development Coordination Office, the city has completed all criteria. 41 out of 41 members agreed to recognize Vinh City as having achieved 100% New Rural Development status in all communes. 10 criteria exceeded the standard, including the income criterion. The remaining 9 criteria met the standard as prescribed.

Concluding the discussion, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated that: In recent times, the city has focused its efforts through various mechanisms and policies, creating favorable conditions for communes to compete in building new rural areas. The criteria for new rural areas, especially the average per capita income, have now reached 33.8 million VND/person/year. Mr. Dinh Viet Hong affirmed that the city has successfully met all 19 criteria for new rural areas as stipulated.

This is an encouraging initial result for the city and the province, and the city is now completing the necessary documents and procedures to submit to the central government. The comrade also noted that the city will maintain and further develop areas with higher requirements.
