105 works won the 12th National Press Award in 2017

Of the 145 works entered into the final round, the Council selected 105 best press works to honor, including: eight A prizes, 25 B prizes, 43 C prizes and 29 consolation prizes.

Speaking at the Final Round Council, Comrade Thuan Huu, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, President of the National Press Awards Council, President of the Final Round Council affirmed: During two working days, the Final Round Council of the 12th National Press Awards 2017, consisting of 40 members, evaluated 145 works that qualified for the final round, in a serious, impartial and highly responsible spirit. The Council discussed the criteria for evaluation, scoring and classifying the works according to A, B, C, and encouragement for awarding prizes.

The Final Jury determined that the entries met the selection criteria stated in the “Selection Guidelines” of the Jury; closely followed the political tasks of the country, the industry, and the locality in 2017; promptly, vividly, and diversely reflected the economic, social, security, and defense situation of the country; the policies and decisions of the Government. Many entries analyzed new current issues in depth, introduced new factors, good people, good deeds, and advanced models in economic activities, investment to get rich, and economic development; economic and cultural issues in remote areas, ethnic minority areas; overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and floods in 2017; fighting against corruption, negativity, and waste; fighting against hostile forces and wrongful activities against the Party and the State; issues of economic development associated with environmental protection; about agriculture, rural areas, farmers, about the 4.0 industrial revolution and its impact on all aspects of life...

The Final Council evaluated the preliminary judging process and raised some issues that need to be learned for the following seasons, especially promoting the responsibility and improving the quality of the Preliminary Council, and giving opinions on some issues regarding the organization of the tournament.
