107 billion VND to upgrade Cua Hoi fishing port.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 11, 2016, in Nghi Hai ward, Cua Lo town, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held the groundbreaking ceremony for the project to upgrade and expand Cua Hoi fishing port.
Attending the event were leaders from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, representatives from Cua Lo Town, the 2nd Naval Squadron of the Provincial Border Guard, Nghi Hai Ward, the Project Management Board, and the Cua Hoi Fishing Port Management Board.

Cua Hoi fishing port is included in the planning of the fishing port and jetty system from now until 2030 and was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 346 dated March 15, 2009, with the goal of building, upgrading, and expanding the port to meet the criteria of a type 1 fishing port, meeting the needs for loading and unloading seafood harvested in the Gulf of Tonkin fishing grounds, providing logistics services for the fishing industry, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the local people.

The project has a total estimated cost of 107 billion VND, with the following construction items: Construction of a new 800 HP pier; construction of a connecting bridge between the existing pier and the newly built 250 HP pier; construction of a new seawall to create a land area for the construction of a seafood sorting facility and other fisheries infrastructure with an area of 1.4 hectares; renovation of the seafood sorting facility and the second seafood sorting facility on the pier; upgrading and repairing technical infrastructure systems including: power supply system, clean water supply system, and wastewater drainage and treatment system with a capacity of 200 m³.3/day and night.

The project is expected to be completed in 2018. To date, two fishing ports in the province have been upgraded and expanded with a total investment of nearly 150 billion VND.
