108 billion to build a memorial for the 500 kV North-South transmission line
The National Transmission Corporation has the idea of building a Monument to honor the 500 kV North-South Power Transmission Project, with an investment capital of about 108 billion VND.
The leader of the National Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) said,Based on the recommendations of former officials involved in the construction of the 500 kV North-South transmission line, the unit has a policybuild "Monument to honor the 500 kV North-South Power Transmission Project".
The purpose of building the Monument isTo pay tribute to generations of cadres, engineers and workers who participated in the construction of this project,However, this is just an idea and has not been implemented by EVNNPT.

According to EVNNPT leaders, the Central Power Project Management Board - the unit assigned by the corporation to implement the project, has reported and received approval from Gia Lai province to construct the project in the planned area of Gia Lai Ethnic Cultural Park. After completion, the project will be handed over to local authorities for management.
Regarding the estimated capital of 108 billion VND to build the Monument, EVNNPT leaders said that the money will be partly taken from the corporation's Welfare Fund and contributions from other organizations and individuals.
“The investment value of the project depends on the ability to mobilize funds and contributions from organizations and individuals. Fund mobilization has not been implemented yet,” EVNNPT leaders affirmed.
The 500 kV North-South power transmission project was constructed from April 5, 1992 to May 27, 1994, installing 3,437 iron towers, stretching 1,487 km of transmission lines, passing through 14 provinces and cities with terrain mainly consisting of dense forests and high mountains...To complete the project, 12,000 officers, engineers, workers and many other forces participated in the construction, of which 250 people died.
