This morning, June 27, nearly 450,000 candidates took the Social Science exam, which included History, Geography, and Civic Education. This was the final exam in the 2018 National High School Exam.

This year, the number of candidates registering for the Social Science exam is the highest, accounting for nearly 50% of the total number of candidates taking the exam.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, this year, 36,016 candidates registered for both combined exams, accounting for 4%. The remaining 11% of the total number of candidates registered for the component exams of the combined exam (these are independent candidates taking the exam for university and college admission or independent candidates taking the exam for high school graduation recognition with the component exams of the 2017 combined exam reserved).

Candidates can register to take both combined exams. The higher combined exam score will be chosen to calculate the high school graduation recognition score.

The Ministry of Education and Training notes: Candidates who have registered to take both combined exams are required to take both exams; if a candidate skips one of the two exams, it will be considered that they have not taken enough exams and will not be considered for recognition of high school graduation.

Dr. Sai Cong Hong, Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, said that this year's exam has 4 levels: Easy, medium, difficult, relatively difficult and arranged in order.

The exam is designed for two purposes: high school graduation and college and university admission. Therefore, the exam consists of 60% basic knowledge and 40% advanced knowledge for classification. In 2018, the exam was expanded to include 20% grade 11 content. Therefore, students must have a solid grasp of the knowledge to be able to do the test.

This is the final exam of the 2018 national high school exam.
