Eleven communes in Dien Chau district have experienced a resurgence of African swine fever.

African swine feverThere has been a tendency for outbreaks to recur in Nghe An province in recent months, with the situation being most complicated in Dien Chau district.

Information from the Dien Chau District Agricultural Service Center indicates that over the past two months (February and March), African swine fever has been developing complicatedly in the district. Although it has occurred in small-scale farming households, the number of communes affected by the disease is increasing.

As of March 19th, 11 communes in Dien Chau district have tested positive for African swine fever: Minh Chau, Dien Phu, Dien Tho, Dien Loc, Dien Nguyen, Dien Cat, Dien Tan, Dien Dong, Dien Thai, Dien Lam, and Dien Loi.

Total number of pigsdestroy158 pigs, including 26 sows, with a total weight of over 5 tons of live pigs. The locality with the most outbreaks is Dien Phu commune, with 11 households affected.

Given the current outbreak of African swine fever and other livestock diseases in the district, the People's CommitteeDien Chau districtOfficial directives have been issued regarding disease prevention and control: African swine fever, avian influenza, and bovine lumpy skin disease.

Dien Chau district has also provided 600 liters of chemicals to localities for disinfection spraying in the affected areas; localities with outbreaks have proactively secured sources of lime powder to distribute to residents to implement disease prevention measures as prescribed by veterinary authorities.
