12 people are involved in activities related to the "Church of God" in Vinh City

At about 6:30 p.m. on April 29, Vinh City Police coordinated with professional units of Nghe An Province Police to inspect the apartment on the 5th floor of Golden City 3 apartment building located in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh City of Mr. Hoang Xuan Quynh (born in 1980, hometown Yen Thanh town, Yen Thanh district).

Previously, Nghi Phu Commune Police received a report from local residents about a group of people on the 5th floor of Golden City 3 apartment building who were suspected of illegally practicing the "Church of God" religion.

At the scene, the police discovered 12 people (6 men, 6 women) engaged in illegal proselytizing activities; confiscated many books and documents related to the Catholic religion.

Initially, at the police station, Mr. Hoang Xuan Quynh - the apartment owner confessed: some friends from Quang Binh and Nghe An entered the room to play and study the Bible and were discovered by the authorities.

Vinh City Police leaders said that the Church of God's preaching in this apartment building is an illegal activity, against the law.

Vinh City Police have drawn up a record of administrative fines for Mr. Hoang Xuan Quynh because he has not registered temporary residence at the apartment building.

On this occasion, Vinh University has also just issued a notice to all staff, civil servants and students of the school to be vigilant and avoid contact with strangers, especially groups of people claiming to be members of the "Church of God".

When discovering the activities of an organization calling itself the Church of God, report it to the nearest police station or the student support service center, the Political and Student Affairs Department.

Recently, in some localities in the country, an organization has appeared calling itself the "Church of God", operating illegally against the provisions of the law; using many tricks to lure and entice people to participate, causing many serious consequences and negatively affecting the security, order and safety of society.

The Church of God is a religious movement originating from Korea, now present in many countries. In Vietnam, the headquarters of the Association is located on Le Van Quoi Street, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City - this is the first licensed location.

According to Mr. Vu Chien Thang, Head of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, there are currently a number of groups named "Church of God", including Protestant groups that have been approved by the government to register for collective religious activities. Therefore, the extreme manifestations that the press has reported in a number of provinces and cities related to the organization called "Church of God" need to be verified and distinguished from other Protestant groups with similar names, avoiding equating them with Protestant organizations in general.
