Odon Vallet is a Doctor of Science in Law, Professor of History and Religion currently teaching at Sorbonne University (France).

Inheriting a fortune from his late father, he and his brother founded the Vallet Foundation in 1999 and dedicated most of their inheritance to the organization, aiming to provide scholarships to outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds in France, Benin and Vietnam so that they can continue their studies.

Throughout the past time, despite the geographical distance and health limitations, because of his special affection for Vietnam in general and Vietnamese students in particular, Professor Odon Vallet has regularly visited Vietnam every year to personally hand out scholarship gifts to students.

However, since 2020, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Prof. Odon Vallet has been unable to come to Vietnam and has had to authorize the Vallet Scholarship Coordination Board to directly award scholarships to young Vietnamese people.
