129 science projects of high school students across the province compete
(Baonghean.vn) - The science and technology competition is organized to contribute to strongly shifting the educational process from mainly focusing on equipping knowledge to comprehensively developing learners' capacity and qualities.
On the morning of December 29, the Department of Education and Training opened the Provincial Science and Technology Competition for high school students for the 2019-2020 school year.

This is the 7th year the provincial science and technology competition has been held with 127 projects from secondary and high school students from 21 education and training departments and 61 high schools across the province.
Projects focus on 14 areas: systems software, embedded systems, robotics and intelligent machines, physics and astronomy, energy physics, mechanical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, animal science, environmental engineering, cell and molecular biology, biomedical and health sciences, translational medicine, social and behavioral sciences.

The Science and Technology Competition is held annually to contribute to strongly shifting the educational process from mainly focusing on equipping knowledge to comprehensively developing learners' capacity and qualities.
Through this competition, students are also encouraged to do scientific research, pay attention to life issues, and relate knowledge learned in high school to the vivid reality of the natural and social world.

At the same time, practice the skills of applying the general knowledge learned to solve practical problems, contributing to bringing STEM education into schools, creating a foundation for future startup activities.
For schools, this activity contributes to promoting teachers' self-improvement, improving professional capacity, innovating teaching methods and forms, testing and assessment towards developing students' capacity, actively contributing to the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program.

The competition will last for 3 days. After this competition, the Organizing Committee will select the best projects to participate in the national Science and Technology competition scheduled to be held in March 2020 in Da Nang city.
After 6 times of organization, there were 859 projects participating in the competition, of which 44 projects were selected to participate in the National competition. As a result, 5 projects won First Prize, 5 projects won Second Prize, 4 projects won Third Prize and 10 projects won Fourth Prize.
In the 2017-2018 school year, the project "System for distilling salt water into fresh water with vacuum technology using hydraulic pumps by ocean wave energy" by students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted was selected to participate in the Science and Technology Competition in the United States.
