13 Science and Technology competition projects in Nghe An entered the second round to select the national team

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 12, the Organizing Committee of the National Science and Technology Competition for High School Students in the 2017-2018 school year, Northern region, announced the list of 13 projects that entered the second round to select the national team to participate in the International Science and Technology Competition.

These are the projects that just won first prize at the national science and technology competition held in Vinh City. Of which, there are 3 projects from Hanoi delegation, 2 projects from Hanoi National University of Education, 2 projects from Hai Phong, 1 project from University of Natural Sciences. Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh provinces each received 1 project.

Among the 13 projects, there are 2 projects of Nghe An delegation. That is the project of Distilling salt water into fresh water system with vacuum technique using hydraulic pump by wave energy of two students Mai Nhat Anh and Phung Van Long - Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

The second project is Research on creating bio-cleaner-na biological products and testing the treatment of school toilet environment by students Nguyen Tat Bao Long and Nguyen Manh Hung - Huynh Thuc Khang High School.

According to the National Science and Technology Competition Regulations for middle school and high school students, projects that win first prize in each field group and wish to be selected to compete internationally will participate in the team selection round.

In this part of the competition, candidates present a summary of their project and answer an interview in English. The project presentation and interview are recorded/televisioned for evaluation and scoring by judges who are not involved in the interview.

It is expected that tomorrow morning, March 13, the projects selected for the national team will be announced at the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the competition. According to the plan, next May, these projects will represent the Vietnamese team to participate in the International Science and Technology Fair held in the United States.

In 2017, at the International Science and Technology Competition, Vietnam was one of three countries ranked third after the United States and India with 5 projects winning official prizes of the Competition (1 Third Prize; 4 Fourth Prizes) and 4 projects winning special prizes awarded by science and technology organizations and businesses.
